Asking questions

Name the entity, document, period, or relationship that matters:

  • “Which suppliers are connected to product Atlas?”
  • “Summarize the graph facts from the Q4 report.”
  • “Show relationships between Acme and Berlin.”
  • “What changed for this entity during 2025?”
  • “Where is machine M-001?” (the same code without a hyphen, M001, is the same identifier)

Chat can use graph search, document context, paths, temporal queries, and other tools. The available tool calls appear with the response. Identifier lookup ranks an exact code first. It does not treat every similar M-* code as a 90% match.

In Graph, select an entity or triple and choose Ask yggy. yggy adds that item as a reference in the chat input. This is more precise than describing the item from memory.

You can also open the Chat panel inside Graph. That panel includes the visible nodes and edges as request context.

Treat a generated answer as a working result, not as proof by itself:

  1. Expand the tool calls.
  2. Review the returned entities, triples, or document context.
  3. Open the related item in Graph or document detail when the decision matters.

If a response has no useful result, confirm that the document completed extraction and that you selected the correct project.

Chat can offer graph-changing actions. When an action needs confirmation, yggy shows a confirmation dialog with the proposed input. Review it before you accept.
